AZTEC INTERACTIONS

- Though the main motivation for the exploration was to convert native Americans to Christianity, his second motive was for economic exploitation.
- In Seville, was the House of Trade, which ran all colonial economic activity.
- Agriculture provided many cash crops like coffee, bananas, potatoes, tomatoes, and most importantly sugarcane.
- These would be grown in large plantations that intensively grew one cash crop.
