Trench Warfare

Much of the Great War was fought in trench warfare. In trench warfare, soldiers would dig trenches and then sit and hide below the ground in these trenches. Trench warfare was an effective method of warfare because it allowed for soldiers to stay hidden and then surprise the enemy.
Trench warfare allowed for the soldiers to be sheltered from the enemy, however they were very dirty and diseases spread rapidly amongst the soldiers.
