Predicate Nominatives
A predicate nominative is a noun or pronoun that
FOLLOWS A LINKING
VERB
and names or explains the subject.
The verb will always agree with the subject.
Example
Angela's favorite candy is gum.
What is the candy? Gum is the candy. Candy is the PN because it answers the question what.
Predicate Nominatives will never be found in a prepositional phrase.
