So by now you have probably learned that an adjective describes a noun or a pronoun. So what describes a verb? An adverb!
Adverbs typically end with -ly
Here are two examples secretly and slowly. But not all adverbs end with -ly. Some are just words you here everyday like fast and hard. Adverbs also tell how, when or where.
Examples
How: The plane landed smoothly at the airport
Smoothly is your adverb.
When: Soon Jeff would see his grandparents at the gate
Soon is your adverb.
Where: They were waiting for him there.
There is your adverb.
