Halley's Comet
Discovered be astronomer Edward Halley after he read observations of a comet appearing the the sky in 1531, 1607 and 1682. Thought to be three different comets, however Edward concluded that it was actually the same comet. He then predicted that it would return in 1758. He died without seeing the comet return, but his prediction proved to be accurate leading to it being named after him.
The last time the comet was here was in 1986 and is predicted to return sometime in the year of 2061.
