Hinduism and Buddhism are similar in some ways because the founder, Siddhattha Gotama, was a hindu before he went on his journey to enightenment. Hinduism and Buddhism share the belief of karma and that it affects what happens to you during life. In Buddhism however if karma is unresolved then you can try again in another life where as in hinduism if karma is un resolved reincarnation can put you into a lower caste. A con of Hinduism is that the sacred texts are a hodgepodge of random things thrown together but they are all held together because of the cast system and Buddhism, because of its missionary like ways, has been adopted and changed in so many ways that it is almost unrecognizable to its original form.

Hinduism and Daoism are opposing religions. Daoism focuses on one's connectedness with the earth and nature. Daoism believes that when you die you revert to the natural state of being of the earth. Hinduism believes in escaping the reincarnation cycle and when karma is unresolved one can be reincarnated into a plant and never escape the cycle. The two religions have some similarities such as they both strive for some inner peace.'

Hinduism and Confucianism differ greatly btu they both give positive incentives to follow the way they think life should be lived out. Confucianism differ in the fact that Hinduism is a religion and Confucianism is more of a way of life than a religion. A draw back to Confucianism is that the writings mention the afterlife but do not explain what happens after death.

There are other religions and ways of life like Hinduism such as Buddhism, Confucanism, and Daoism.
