Education

Even though Lamar set aside land for public schools, barely any progress had been made. Many Anglo-Americans had to get education through private schools. $2 million dollars were set aside for school. Funds in 1854 when Governor Elisha M. Pease signed a law, but even then money for schools was still lacking, but a few schools were created, several institutes and colleges were made and The Permanant School Fund was set up in 1876 that is now worth more than $20 billion.
