Kublai Khan is one of the many grandsons of Chinggas Khan. In 1279 he proclaimed himself emperor of the yuan dynasty in china. He promoted Buddhism but allowed Islam, Christianity, and Daoisism to be practiced. Like his grandfather, Kublai khan diversified his empire, by getting many different people from different nations to help run his empire and work in the administrative bureaucracy.
