*Why was the monsoon season so important to farmers in the Indian River Basin?
Because generally, India is a very arid area of land without the irrigation from the rivers that were filled up from the monsoon season, so basically the monsoons were the main sources of water for farms.
*Describe the irrigation systems that were used in the basin.
Many areas did not get enough water in the spring and summer months, so the majority of the water came from the irrigation system. The cultivators tapped into the water sources of the Indus River and some in the Ganges. Here they were able to set up an irrigation system to feed water out to the other sections of land for agriculture.
*Why was India’s population able to grow throughout the postclassical era?
As a result of increased productivity in agriculture and construction.
