Parts of the Respiratory System

Aveoli- Tiny air-filled sacs in the lungs where the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide occurs between the lungs and the bloodstream.

Diaphragm- A dome-shaped sheet of muscle located below the lungs separating the thoracic and abdominal cavities that contrast and expand to to force the air in and out of the lungs.

Bronchi- Two main branches of the trachea leading into the lungs

Trachea- The tube connecting the throat to the bronchi

Lungs- A pair of organs found in al vertebrates
