The "Trustbuster"
Theodore Roosevelt was the youngest president, and after the unexpected assassination of President McKinley, he had to be up to the job. He was good about business regulations and got on to those who violated the Sherman Antitrust Act. Northern Securities Company was first. The Supreme Court decided that the company had illegally limited trade.
Theodore busted up many trusts. Beef, oil, and tobacco industries were busted up(25 of them in all). But, he didn't want to bust up all of the trusts. He said some were good and some were bad.
