'Dig for victory'

There was a campaign called 'dig for victory' where people grew food in allotments. Some people gave food scraps to farmers and they fed their pigs, making them fat and then killed them. After, they shared the meat with the people who gave them the food scraps.

These were called 'pig clubs'.
