How the trench warfare worked:


Trenches are built to cover soldiers from machinegun and artillery fires. The advaning forces concentrate artillery. This allowed the soldiers advance as quick as possible while the enemies are covering from artillery fires. These soldiers then try to find a new trench or other form of covers before being shot down by enemy fires. They advance the artilleries, and repeat the process.
