Straight:
No added fullness at the hem.

A-line:
Have extra width at the hem on each side. Resemble the letter A.

Circular:
Very full at the hem. Forms half circles while worn and full circle when not wearing.

Full:
Pleated or gathered.

Dirndl:
Slightly gathered skirts that are not very full.

Gathered:
Fullness of fabric pulled together at waist without structured folds

Gored:
Vertical seams all the way from the waistline to hem. Similar to princess seams in dress.

Wrap:
Wrap around the body and overlap the side back or side front
