The Second Continental Congress met at May 10, 1775 at Philadelphia. They talked about the a Continental Army, an army made of troops from all the colonies, and who would lead it .
John Adams came up with the Idea of the army and George Washington was chosen to lead it.
The Battle of Bunker Hill. The Americans lost that battle because they ran out of gunpowder while defending the bunker. More than 1000 British solders were killed or injured and nearly half that number of Americans were injured or killed. By doing this the war started.
