The first European encounter with my country was war. The Europeans wanted land from my country. They had negative impacts of European involvement with indigenous, including them wanting to still some of my land. There was also a positive impact which is making an agreement and learning to share the land. My independence story is nonviolent. My country doesn't like to have to go into war but if we need to we will, for instance we didn't want to go to war over land with indigenous, but they refused on many things so my country had no choice but to go to war and we weren't very happy with that. We had two main leaders Christopher Columbus was the one who founded my country and Martin Luther King Jr. Who was the main influence of keeping peace in my country. My country has developed after independence.
