Treatment options

There is no cure for COPD. But there are many things you can do to relieve symptoms and keep the disease from getting worse.

Medicine used to treat COPD include:

-Inhalers (bronchodilators)
-Inhaled or oral steroids
-Anti-inflammatory drugs

In severe cases,

-Steroids by mouth or intravenously
-Oxygen Therapy
-Assistance with breathing through a mask, BiPAP, or endotracheal tube.
-Lung transplant
-Removal of parts of the diseased lung.
