This literary piece plays a significant role in the Victorian period of literature because women didn't have their rights, so most of them were excluded from their village. Therefore she was miserable not being able to be out in the real world and had to see it through her web.

This work reflects the Victorian ideals because most women were secluded from their everyday activities.

The style of writing used in this literary piece is that most of the lines in this poem have eight syllables, although there are a bunch with five or seven too. Tennyson uses two different basic rhythms for these lines. The first is iambic meter and the second is tetrameter.
