Accomplishments off the field

Roberto was known for his humanitarian efforts. He helped people in need across the United States and Central America and held free baseball clinics for children in Puerto rico.

Every year, Major League Baseball gives out the Roberto Clemente Award to a player in baseball that demonstrates the attributes that Roberto himself demonstrated. The award is so prestigious that a player can only win it once.
