-Aryans migrated to the ganges river valley and build irrigation systems with plentiful surface water all around.

-unlike north they Needed large scale irrigation due to arid land.
-constructed waterworks,dams, reservoirs, canals, wells, and tunnels.
-ex: artificial lake near bhopal during 11th century.
