-Patients who are diagnosed with ADHD have difficulty focusing, following instructions, and miss details.
- Children who have ADHD often have more difficultly keeping up with school then most children due to the fact that they are impatient and can not focus for long periods of time.
- As with most mental disorders, there is no known cause but ADHD can come hand in hand with genetics.

-The percentage of children with an ADHD diagnosis continues to increase, from 7.8% in 2003 to 9.5% in 2007 and to 11.0% in 2011.
- ADHD is also found in adults, but generally is not as common as with children.
- For a child it is hard to live with ADHD without proper guidance, especially when it comes to learning and following instructions as they may require different methods of teaching. Overall, it is up to the parent to provide assistance and support for a growing child with ADHD. It is a disorder that is manageable with proper treatment and appropriate lifestyle changes.
