The Growth of Towns

Summery:
In 1850 fewer than 13,000 people lived in Texas towns. But the number kept growing to 26,000. Texas was the most developed port and trade center. 1860 San Antonio became the largest town in Texas. Each "cities" had few homes, general stores,blacksmith shops, offices for lawyers and doctors, and trade shops. All buildings were made of logs or lumber.
