Rosa parks
In 1955, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a bus to a white man. This act of civil disobedience was an important catalyst in the growth of the Civil Rights movement. Her action,led to a series of legislative and court decisions which contributed to undermining the Jim Crow system.
