Animals also use vibration in the ground or water to communicate. Kangaroo rats drum their feet during courtship, territory disputes, and even to scare off snakes. Elephants, snakes, worms, frogs, spiders, and other insects also use vibration to communicate. Some birds, like pigeons, also detect vibrations of both predators and prey to help survive.
