J.W Milam and Roy Bryant

Roy Bryant the husband of Carolyn (the woman that Emmett was "flirting" with) and J.W Milam killed Emmett.

They kidnapped him, beat him and then shot him in the head.

They were tried for murder. But a jury of all white men acquitted them.

Months after their trial they confessed to killing Emmett.
