Rice with red roasted pork(moo daeng) or crispy pork (moo krop) is one of the most commonly available Thai dishes at street stalls and food centres. The thinly sliced pieces of meat are layered on top of boiled rice, and covered with a sticky concoction of soy and oyster sauce. Halved boiled egg, whole spring onions, cucumber slices and a bowl of clear broth are served on the side. Add a few spoons of condiment for this dish - sliced chili in Chinese black vinegar and dark soy sauce - to give the dish a bit more pep.
