Early start

• Age 6, he was on his first team. It was a team of 10 year olds.
• Gretzky always played at very high level in his minor years. His first coach, Dick Martin, said he could handle the puck better than the ten year olds.
• Because the sweaters they wore for the team were to big for Gretzky, he would tuck the right side in his pants. He continued to do that for his whole NHL career.
