Different types of Euthanasia

When it is performed by a patient request we call it Voluntary Euthanasia (VE).

When the decision is carried out without patient consent it is Non-Voluntary Euthanasia (NVE)

If euthanasia is performed against the patient's will that is In-Voluntary Euthanasia.

Physician assisted suicide (PAS) is when a doctor helps or provides a means to a patient with intention to kill him or herself. In this case the patient takes the lethal drugs prescribed or provided by a doctor. Some people use the term Euthanasia broadly to include Physician Assisted Suicide (PAS).
