banning information

This novel was banned in 2009 at the Montgomery County High School in Kentucky. Parents complained about this series because it includes foul language, sex, child abuse, drug use, and suicide. Another complaint was that this novel doesn't include the "intellectual rigor" that students require for their college prep classes.

I personally do not think this book should be banned. While it does include things that are "adult topics", I think that Neal Shusterman wrote this novel in a way that the reader can decide whether or not they agree with the topics discussed. I would recommend that this book be read by people who are at least 13, just because of the situations that occur in the book, but I think any mature reader could handle it.
