THREE TYPES OF pH LEVELS

1. Litmus paper- blue turns red in ACID, red turns blue in BASE and both turn violet. in NEUTRAL solutions.

2. Phenolphthalein- used to test for BASES. It is colorless and turns magenta (bright pink) in BASES and stays colorless in ACIDS.

3. pH paper- has a range of colors and is numbered 0-14. The color of the paper is compared to the chart on the pH box
