The Reason

The reason behind such a fascinating war is that the British were planning to take over the New York Colony. Though Hortaio Gates would not let that happen. They hid under bushes, knowing they would not be spotted there. The British had not learned anything from the previous wars- they still marched through wearing blood - red vests. The Americans had new weapons.. (See page 3).

The Patriots used anything they could find to stop the British.
