Korean War
In June 1950 around 75,000 soldiers from the North Korean Army invaded the Pro-Western Korea in the south on the 38th parallel. The American troops entered on behalf of South Korea in July. This was the first military conflict in the Cold War and America joined in order to fight against communism. A lot of people were scared that it might be the beginning of World War III. But thankfully the ear ended and the Korean Peninsula is still split.
