SCHEME
By Sarah Gillings BA (Hons)
Seating
The chairs and seating will be mix and match as shown in main image, a distressed painted look. Addition of some bench areas and soft furnishings such as cushions will add to the welcoming atmosphere.
Injecting a quirky individuality back into the space, retaining the current capacity of 42 diners, however I aim to introduce cosy areas too...
RUSTIC WOOD
THE MAIN FURNITURE & FITTINGS SCHEME
When we begin to create interest inside even a small space, we begin to create atmosphere. The concept is to use existing space more innovatively. Creating a sofa and eating area with chunky wooden table and pouffes opposite....perfect for mezze, tapas, snacking, eating with friends, and eating using hands. Why not add stools at the bar as well as 2 standing tables at the front.....
A GREAT SOFA
I found a really good deal in the sales, this one is called Georgia and its under £800!! press the arrow link to take you to the website....
BAR BLENDING
For dining and the bar, the introduction of chunky real wood will add warmth to the dining experience.
The bar needs to integrate more into the space, so that customers can see clearly whats on offer.
Quirky & humorous details give an extra dimension
Scale floor plan 1:50
Current elevation
New design proposal 1 sofa
Seating cubes/pouffes X 4 will be possible to add to this scheme. Stencil Artwork will be created Onto canvas to match overall colour scheme. Certain architectural features will be graffiti stencilled too.
RUSTIC WOOD
UPHOLSTERED BENCHES
We can incorporate uplifting in the back of the benches as we did for Bar Valentino, this will improve lighting in the areas and current fittings can therefore be removed leaving space for artwork.
Cowhide upholstery idea
A raw wood plank will make the back rest, it will be a cross section of a tree from a sustainable source.
Current exterior facade
Exterior facade-Bright accent option
White and grey scheme with turquoise and teal accents creates an uncluttered clean and striking look. The new graphics combined with the graffiti skull motif on interior walls (visible from the outside) create visual continuity. Note that this visual is for project design purposes only as the graphics need exploring and developing as a separate project.
Fire heaters and new exterior furniture will be planned separately
Exterior facade-Vintage option a
Chilli tree mural could be pained in foyer
Exterior facade-Vintage option b
Option with taupe colour exterior paintwork to be discussed
Fire heaters and new exterior furniture will be planned separately
GRAPHICS RULE!
Never underestimate the power of really tight graphics which run through all printed and marketing materials.
ViNTAGE MEXICAN THEME
Food icons
INCORPORATING ICONS INTO LOGO
Organic patterns
Skull with roses
Any graphic element can be incorporated into backgrounds
OTHER REALLY COOL STUFF
UPCYCLING LIGHTING & TABLES
Bright accessories which are recycled will offset the rustic wood and natural tones of the decor. All the napkins and tableware can be mexican colours.
