Graphing Linear Inequalities and Shading

First you set the inequality to a y= equation! then figure out the slope and y intercept and plot the two points. You can tell if it's a solid or dashed line by if it's less than and greater than, it's dashed, and if it's less than or equal to and greater than or equal to its solid. Then substitute in the point (0,0) for x and y and that will tell you what side you shade on, the one with that point or without.

Y < 7/3x + 5
Y= 7/3x + 5
Slope- 7/3
Y intercept- 5
(Plot the two points)
0< 7/3 (0) + 5
0< 0 + 5
0 < 5
Yes! So on the graph it should be a dashed line since it's the less than symbol, and because (0,0) works, the right side of the line would be shaded.
