This created The Job Corps to train young men and women between the ages of 16 & 21 in the work skills they needed to acquire.

Also established VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America). They sent American volunteers into poverty stricken American communities. Some of the places they worked at are:

Rural Health Clinics

City Schools

Indian Reservations
