Immigrants from Latin America, Central America, the Caribbean and Asia soon began to pour into the US.

During 1960s and 1970s millions of immigrants would arrive on American shores.

Medicare provided basic hospital insurance for Americans in the Social Security system who were 65 and older.

Medicaid provided basic medical services to poor and disabled Americans who were not part of the Social Security System.

This was a program for 4-5 year olds from disadvantaged families that gave them a chance to start school on an even basis with other children.
