For our school, Daoism is better than the other two philosophies: Legalism and Confucianism. The teachings of Laozi show us not only power, but also freedom. They show us the power you, and only you, have over your life. They give us freedom of choice, allowing us to discover, at our own pace, the wrong and right and the many variations in life. Legalism teaches you to believe what authorities say, and that you shall stay true and loyal to them at all times. This is not good because, if authorities treat you badly like they do in Legalism, you will never be able to trust them, and if you don't trust them, how do they expect you to believe what they say? If Legalism is applied in schools, students will grow afraid and never totally believing what their told. Daoism is also better than Confucianism because, even though possibly an elder has greater experience, they might not have greater knowledge. Also, elders might not be able to teach on a way the student understands, which is the opposite to Daoism.
