The war ends
General Ulysses S. Grant took over the army in 1864. On April 9, 1865 the confederacy surrendered to the union. Present at the surrender was Ely S. Parker. He was a union officer and Seneca chief. In New York people were going wild! Bells are ringing boys girls and men are running through the streets wild.
