Miss Blanche Ingram
Miss Blanche Ingram is described as a beautiful woman with a dark complexion, noble features, tall, and has black, curly hair that is arranged extravagantly. Jane first meets Ingram at the house party, but Mrs. Fairfax has mentioned her before. Jane observes from the party that Ingram is not as interested in Rochester, yet they would probably still marry. She also sees Rochester and Ingram play charades together, which secures her uncertainty about their marriage. When a fortune teller reads Ingram's future, she is apparently not happy with her fortune. Jane dwells on this, but not for too long. She dismisses her feelings about Rochester away, because she assumes he will marry Miss Ingram.
