Meiosis
Meiosis is the process that makes gametes. Meiosis starts with diploid cells. There are two main stages of meiosis and both are subdivided into prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase. During prophase the chromosomes swap generic information in a process called crossing over. In meiosis there are two cell divisions and this created haploid cells.
