Poetry Dig

The Lake's Beauty

The water ripples in the breeze,
The sky reflects on the lake;
It's beauty reaches out to me.
I see my reflection
In the clear, blue water
When it's so gentle
It is like a polished mirror.
But when the storm comes along,
Raging violently,
Lightning reflects, thunder sounds,
On the lake so dark
So black.
And when the storm calms,
The lake calls for peace;
It slows down to a ripple
Then shines like a mirror again.

I like this poem because it reminds me of all of the summers that I have spent going up to a small lake in Wisconsin. I also like the way the poem creates a pretty picture in your mind.
