Relationships

- Warfare was the way of life because rival lords battled constantly for power
- So, nobles began training in boyhood to be a knight
- Learned to ride, fight, and keep armor in good condition
- Code of conduct called chivalry
- Protected peasants and nobles

Vassals and Knights pledged their loyalty to the King and swore to serve and protect him.

Lord protected vassal, and vassal has loyalty toward lord and 40 days of military service.
