The War Begins
-On May 10, 1775, the Second Continental Congress met in Philadelphia.
-The decision that they made was who should command the "New England Army". The obvious answer was a New Englander.
- The person who came up with the idea of the "Continental Army" was John Adams.
-The person that John Adams chose to lead the army was George Washington of Virginia.
- The importance of The Battle of Bunker Hill was, a clash, which was short, but very bloody. More than 1,000 British troops were killed or wounded, and nearly half that many Americans. British and Americans alike knew that this was no small skirmish on a village green. A war had begun.
