Conclusion/ Discussion

Our eggspiriment was very successful. The case created did an eggcellent job. Our case successfully increased the time of impact due to the insulation pipe, cotton balls, and finally the peanut butter. The soft materials helped increase the impulse. The increase in impulse makes the egg less vulnerable when dropped. When the time of impact is increased the force of impact is decreased.
Even though our container was larger resulting in it having a larger mass than other cases, it still kept the egg safe because of all the soft materials that were added. To better improve the lab in the future a smaller case should be made to still protect the egg but have less momentum and decrease the force.
This lab can be applied to other areas in life. For example when an air bag is deployed during a crash is increase the time of impact and decreases the force on the person. Another example is when a person is punched, if the body moves with the punch the impact time is increased and the force of the punch is not as harsh.
