Journal Entry #1- age 5

My momma always tells me that one day I will marry the richest Patrician here in Rome! I really hope that it is true. According to the Law, a Patrician can only be with a Patrician, and a Plebian can only be with a Plebian. For me, I have actually never seen a Plebian in my life, I'm actually always stuck here at the house while our slave, Acacia, teaches me.
Infact, Acacia taught me today to not judge people just based on their class, which is very different to what Mommy has always told me. Acacia told me that she doesn't want me to become like my momma, that I am very different from momma, and that I am going to grow up to be a very smart and intelligent woman.
