How it was discovered
Trisomy 18, also called Edwards Syndrome was discovered by a British man named John Edwards in 1960. He was a scientist that noticed several common abnormalities amongst babies. In addition, these babies all developed three sets of chromosomes instead of two on the number 18 chromosome.
