The Arming Sword, or Knight's Sword, was a long sword about 32 inches long used in Medieval Europe around 11-15 A.D.

A Longsword is a sword made around the Italian Renaissance, and was around 40 inches long.

A Katana is a Japanese sword around 25 inches long used from 1000 A.D. and is still around today but not used in war because we have guns.

A Falchion is a French sword, a one handed, one bladed sword that was like an axe and was deadly.
