Vincent Van Gogh
Self portrait
1889
Oil on canvas
National Gallery of Art

Description: In this painting, we see artist Vincent Van Gogh. He pictured himself holding a palette with an array of different colors. The background is made up of a few different shades of blue.

Interpretation: I get a sense of uneasiness when I look at this picture. His gave is sort of discomforting, like he's looking straight into my soul. His expression seems a bit troubled (in the eyebrows), as if he's scrutinizing one of his pieces.
