Structure of the heart

The chambers are lined w/a thin membrane called the endocardium (prevents the blood from clotting as it passes through heart). The heart is protected by a membrane named the pericardium. The outer pericardium looks like a fibrous sac, (made out of connective tissue),it holds the heart in place.
