Process of Cellular Respiration

Cellular respiration has 3 main phases:

Glycolysis- one molecule is broken in half, producing two molecules of pyruvic acid. 2 ATP.

Krebs Cycle- pyruvic acid is broken down into carbon dioxide in a series of energy-extracting reactions. 2 ATP

Electron Transport System- Uses high energy electrons from the Krebs Cycle to convert ADP to ATP. 32 ATP

#1

Energy Total for Aerobic Respiration: 36 ATP
